Our client, a market leader in image/video capture and distribution platforms, have a fantastic Procurement and Supply Chain Manager opportunity. Operating within the retail and technology industry, they have recently undergone considerable growth which has led to the formation of this role.
Overview
The requirement is for a Supply Chain Manager who has considerable experience in vendor sourcing and purchasing management. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the procurement/purchasing and supply chain strategy for the global business, technology and retail portfolio. The role will identify cost saving opportunities and will require the ability to creatively negotiate, generate contracts and manage the delivery of optimal purchase, maintenance, support and service solutions for the brand globally
Role Requirements
- Extensive vendor and contractual management experience
- Ability to facilitate and develop business relationships
- Business process: To lead best practice of asset, warehousing and logistics supply to ensure best use of business premises and stock management
- Knowledge of contract procedures and negotiations
- Demand Planning: Knowledge of and ability to create future projections
- Legal Limitations: Knowledge of local and global limitations when developing contracts/merchandise and logistics
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects succesfully, establishing clear goals and accountabilities and delivering on time/within budget
- Supplier/Vendor Agreements: Knowledge of the terminology relating to vendor contracts and agreements
- Third Party Capabilities: Knowledge of the capabilities of relevant contracted suppliers
- Vendor Management: Experience of supplier evaluation and ensuring that vendor performance meets or exceeds defined performance standards and adheres to company process and procedure
- Familiarity with hardware/software technology
Responsibilities
- Develop a negotiation strategy that delivers against business objectives and creates long term supplier relationships
- Work effectively with cross functional stakeholders and suppliers to produce effective contract agreements
- Prepare the relevant documentation to support strategic bids and renegotiate with suppliers
- Provide product and service expertise to geographic associates
Immediate Requirements
- Assess current contracts and agreements and formulate a renewal schedule
- Identify the main cost saving opportunities
- Identify key relationships for partnering solutions
- Deliver savings in the first six months to demonstrate the benefit of the function
General Responsibilities
- Provide input to business development strategies
- Make recommendations to each department to provide achievement of financial goals
- Identify cost reduction opportunities
- Take the necessary action to reduce costs that are focused on creating greater efficiencies, economies of scale or better quality resources for the retail, sales, engineering and project teams across the business
- Coordinate department behaviours working with procurement and finance to present cost saving analysis, working with business leaders to measure cost relative to cost saving taking into account quality and customer perception
- Prioritise accordingly
- Create and uitilise a project plan to ensure commitments are met by monitoring, assessing and resolving demand variances against budget
