The Forecasting Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the wider sales team to produce accurate forecasts, reflecting the constantly changing market conditions
The role will be responsible for collating and producing short and long term sales forecasts that capture the latest customer demand profiles whilst reflecting wider market trends and changes within the business.
Role Profile
- Sourcing key forecast data from multiple sources
- Delivering an insight-led approach to demand and revenue forecasting, ensuring it reflects changes to business planning and market conditions.
- Ensuring timely production of ongoing demand forecasts
- Attend customer meetings to validate information provided and identify new data sources
- Use existing data and market trends to create, validate and challenge forecasts.
- Track progress and forecast performance
- Provide early warning to significant forecast deviations
- Identify and understand variances in current forecasts
- Demand Planning training and coaching
- Report on previous sales and trends to forecast volume and budgets for the upcoming financial year.
Previous Experience & Key Skills:
- A strong background in data analysis, demand forecasting and modelling
- Deep understanding of forecasting methodology
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to work as part of a close team internally and externally where required.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present summarised information succinctly to finance and non-finance staff of all levels.
- Highly proficient in data analysis.
- Strong Excel and modelling skills.
- Strong planning and organising skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in market research and competitor analysis.
- Ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- A background in Business Intelligence, and an enthusiasm and passion for, data analysis.
- Intermediate / Advanced T-SQL query writing and data extraction skills.
- Experience of Microsoft Power BI desired, to build automated dashboards and reports.
This is an exciting, senior role in Demand Planning, with a remit to fundamentally challenge existing Supply Chain practices and implement new, proven ways of working.
